Channel Islands Stock Exchange to host Workshops to highlight the duties of Directors of Listed Issuers
The Channel Islands Stock Exchange (CISX) will host two workshops in Jersey during March, each designed to increase awareness and understanding of the Exchange’s expectations and requirements. Both workshops, which are open to Directors of CISX Listed Issuers as well as CISX members, offer Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points.
A Listing Investment Funds Workshop takes place at The Royal Yacht Hotel, March 9. Led by a member of the CISX Market Authority, the practical workshop provides members with a greater understanding of their responsibilities as sponsors of listing applications and guidance on the listing rules and the listings process. On completion of this half-day programme, candidates will:
- Understand pre-listing requirements, including suitability of securities for listing
- Understand the CISX listing application process for new open and closed-ended investment funds
- Understand the listing process for subsequent issues under an existing listing
- Prepare a listing application for either a closed or an open ended fund in accordance with CISX expectations
- Understand the range of post-listing requirements, including administrative matters
The course, which costs £150, entitles participants to four CPD points. It starts at 10am and will be followed by lunch at 2pm.
The CISX will also host a Continuing Obligations Regime Workshop on March 16 at The Royal Yacht Hotel. This workshop ensures Directors of Listed Issuers and members are aware of their ongoing responsibilities post-listing. The course will also cover the CISX news delivery system and the Market Data Management Service. On completion of this half-day programme, candidates will:
- Understand the range of post-listing requirements, including administrative matters;
- Appreciate the ongoing disclosure requirements of Directors of Listed Issuers;
- Understand what constitutes price sensitive information;
- Understand the Market Authority’s policy and expectations in respect of notifications of corporate actions;
- Prepare a continuing obligations checklist in respect of a Listed Issuer in accordance with CISX expectations; and
- Gain an appreciation of the ongoing obligations of the Listed Issuer and how to monitor their compliance with the listing rules.
Delegates attending the workshop will receive 5.5 CPD points. It costs £195 and starts at 10am finishing at 3pm and includes lunch.
Tamara Menteshvili, Chief Executive of the CISX, commented:
“With transparency and disclosure an increasingly important consideration in the financial services community, particularly post the financial crisis, the two planned workshops will add to the range of other educational briefings and seminars that the CISX hosts during the course of the year.”
