£16,500 has been earmarked for local charities in Guernsey & Jersey as a result of the local sponsorship of the International Business Summit hosted by the Channel Islands Stock Exchange which will be held in Guernsey on Friday, September 11.
The CISX has also donated £1000 to assist with the funding of the Guernsey Supporting RAF 201 Squadron.
Tamara Menteshvili, Chief Executive of the CISX, commented:
“We are delighted that the Exchange has facilitated the raising of such a substantial sum for local interest groups and charitable organizations. This is a unique aspect of the Business Summit and we are anticipating generating further funds at the summit itself through a series of sponsored exhibits from Guernsey, Jersey and UK businesses on behalf of their chosen charity.
The International Business Summit will see a number of high profile speakers discuss topical issues in a global context, as well as exploring the opportunities that the finance industries in Guernsey and Jersey can offer.
The Summit is the first of its kind and the CISX hopes it will become an annual fixture in the business calendar, alternating between Guernsey and Jersey.
Tamara Menteshvili added:
“We are very excited about bringing members of the business community in the Channel Islands and international delegates together to attend what I am sure will be an informative and thought provoking day. The Business Summit is the perfect opportunity to showcase the Channel Islands and to offer a fresh perspective on some of today’s most important economic and financial issues.”
