AP Personnel recruits from junior levels up to management in the finance and commercial sectors in Guernsey and Jersey. The finance sector includes banks, trust companies, fund administration, accountancy practices and law firms - the modern-day lifeblood of the islands’ economy. Many of the businesses in the Channel Islands are local offices of global companies which offer services based on the tax and other laws in the particular jurisdiction. Because often the people setting up the local companies have little or no knowledge of the islands, we help them not only in terms of finding the right staff, but in any way we can. There is no substitute for local knowledge.
The finance industry began to arrive in the late 1960s, attracted by the friendly tax laws, political stability and the excellent standards of education. Since that time the sector in the two islands has grown dramatically, making a huge contribution to the prosperity of the region. Both Jersey and Guernsey are on the OECD’s ‘white list’ of jurisdictions committed to transparency and international cooperation, following the recent crackdown on the activities of so-called tax havens.
