Our client, an established Trust and Corporate Services business, is seeking a Bookkeeper to join its expanding Guernsey based team. The right candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to contribute to growth in an independent Group who are not affiliated to any banks, lawyers or accountants.

The main responsibilities will include but not be limited to ledger updates for all transactions over investment portfolios and reconcile holdings and balances. Update ledgers for bank transactions and for property letting statements and reconcile. Prepare financial statements using in-house templates for simpler entities, assisting with ad hoc reports and maintenance of task status fields and production of statistical and other returns.

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in a professional office environment, preferably within trust and company administration and proven bookkeeping experience. It would be advantageous to hold or be studying for a relevant level qualification (such as ACA/ACCA, CAT/AAT) and have knowledge of current accounting standards and practices.

Strong organisational skills are a prerequisite for this role, so somebody who can prioritise their own workload and have the ability to plan with a high degree of accuracy and be able to pay attention to detail. It is also a necessity to be able to work to a high standard with spreadsheets and other relevant accounting software, preferably Acumen plus a high level of proficiency with the Microsoft Package as well.

Strong interpersonal skills, as well as having solid verbal and written communication skills will be important for being considered for this role.
