Right to Work in Guernsey

If you are not a Guernsey resident please ensure you are eligible to work and live here before applying for a vacancy based on the island.

Due to the size of the island and the density of the population, there are strict controls regarding who may occupy dwellings in Guernsey. In recent years a number of measures have been taken, including the introduction of legislation, to control the occupation of housing.

One of these regulations is the 'Right to Work' Law, which means that if a person wants to take up employment in Guernsey, he/she must have a valid Right to Work document issued by the Population Management confirming that he/she is lawfully housed.
